LOCATION

There are seven Leisure Worlds in the United States. Leisure World Mesa Arizona is on a Maricopa County island in Mesa, Arizona. It was established in 1973.

Shopping is available all along Power Road. The Superstition Springs Mall is located 1 mile south. It has all the major stores like Dilliards and Macy’s, etc. It has public transportation to the mall.  Access to the Superstition Freeway Also known as the I-60, is 1.5 miles south. Costco is located 2 miles southeast on Sossaman Road. There are two airports within 30 minutes.  (I have separate audio and video for this following statement) Banner Baywood Hospital and medical center is located ½ mile north of Power Road.

 

COMMUNITY

Leisure World is a guard-gated community with around-the-clock security. It has 2 professionally designed golf courses. One is Coyote Run, a championship 18-hole 6500-yard golf course. The other is Heron Lakes Golf Course, which is 4024 yards. The narrow tree-lined fairway can be challenging to all golfers. A restaurant is located on-site called Rendezvous Café at the Coyote Golf Course. It is open Monday – Friday 10-1:00. Their fans say it has great food at great prices!

 

AMENITIES

If you don’t golf, don’t worry, there is plenty to do at the 10,000 sf Fitness Center, which has lockers and showers, a sauna and steam room, a lounge, pool access, a personal trainer and massage, 3 ballrooms, and even an RV parking.

There are plenty of groups to get involved with, including a softball league, tennis with pros available, pickle ball courts, library, ceramics, lawn bowling, shuffleboard, 3 outdoor pools, lap pool, billiards, Zumba, TRX, computer labs, card and board games, stain glass, wood shop, dancing, hiking, outside excursions, and travel, digital market place

 

HOUSING

There are 958 acres with 2664 homes built from 1972 – 1994. Approximately 500 of these homes are condominiums. There are eight districts within the community. Each with its own HOA board. Those in the grassier areas have higher HOA fees. HOA fees for single-family detached homes are mostly $322/month. Condominium HOA fees are mostly around $569/month. There are Ranch-style homes with composition shingle roofing, Spanish-style homes with tile roofing, and Southwest-style homes with built-up (or flat) roofing. There are both attached and detached homes.

Currently, there are 19 homes for sale in the Mesa Leisure World. 18 are single-family homes. They range from $270,000 for a 986 sf house built in 1978 with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths (6434546 –  776 Leisure World). This unit is mostly in original condition and has Ranch style asphalt shingle roofing. The most expensive house is a 1723 sf Spanish-style home with a stucco exterior and tile roof. It is built in 1991 with a 2-car garage on the golf course for $699,900 (6402311 – 2597 Leisure World).  The median price is $450,000 for 1400-1700 sf.  There is a townhouse available on the lake that is 1746 sf 2 BR, 2 Ba for $317,800 (6394981 407 Leisure World)

Currently, there are none available for rent. The two most recent homes that were rented were in March. Both were 1000 sf, 2 bedroom, 2 bath homes with 2-car garage, built in 1986 for $1,425/month. (6351368 1896 leisure world) There are also independent senior living apartment complexes that start around $2700/month for a one-bedroom unit. Assisted living is also available.
