Are you thinking about living in a 55+ community in Arizona and are curious about what you can get for the money? In this episode of The Great Escape, I’m going to show you what you can buy for $450,000 in the Mesa/Gilbert, Arizona area. I’ll break down the home prices and cost of living in three different areas so you can decide which one is right for you.

Convenience In Mesa

Our first stop is Mesa, Arizona, known for the down-to-earth people, convenience to everything, and the new hub of technology and innovation. The first property I want to show you is in Encore at Eastmark, a 1,361 square foot house built in 2018. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a two-car garage. Inside you’ll find granite counters, tile floors, and a covered patio.

Encore is the newest 55+ community in the Mesa Gilbert area and has all the amenities that you could ask for. The home was offered for $449,900 and the HOA fees are $190 per month.

Trilogy At Power Ranch In Gilbert

The next property I want to show you is at Trilogy at Power Ranch in Gilbert, Arizona. Gilbert is known as a family community, listed as one of the safest cities with over 100,000 people in the United States. The house I’m going to show you is 1,436 square feet and was built in 2005.

This home has two bedrooms, two baths, and a two-car garage. It has an open floor plan and is finished with granite counters, tile floors, a walk-in shower, walk-in closets, and a patio area. It has all the amenities plus a golf course and restaurant on site. Additionally, it’s the only 55+ community in Gilbert, Arizona. They were asking for $119,000, and the HOA fees are $153 a month.

Mountainbrook Village In Gold Canyon

The last stop we’re going to make is in the Mountainbrook Village. This community is located in Gold Canyon, Arizona, east of the Mesa/Apache Junction area. It’s located in a gated community that was built in the foothills of the Superstition Mountain and is known for its amazing views and convenient access to the rivers and lakes.

This 1,819 square foot house with two bedrooms, a den, and a two-car garage has amazing mountain views from so many of the windows. It also features vaulted ceilings, tile floors, a walk-in closet, secure roller shades, and a covered patio. The HOA fees are $1,000 a year, giving you all the amenities plus a golf course. It was offered for $385,000.

Enjoy Life In The Mesa/Gilbert Area

Now that we’ve seen some examples of the housing this area offers, what about the cost of living in general? The cost of living is rated 4.9% higher than the national average due to housing. However, groceries, utilities, etc. are a little bit lower. Right now, a gallon of gas is $3.79 a gallon. A gallon of milk is $2.79, and a dozen of eggs is $2.79.
